Sports nutrition plans to improve performance
How you eat and fuel your body is important in all walks of life, but even more so to the amateur or professional sports person.
Having the right type and balance of carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals in the diet is important to support energy production, increase stamina, improve sports performance and most importantly to nourish and repair the body effectively after training and events.
I have worked with runners and swimmers and individuals who just want to get more mileage out of their gym sessions.
I have worked with young athletes and their Mothers who often worry that their child might not be eating the right quantity and types of food to support the demands of their sporting activity.
How to get started with better sports nutrition
I usually recommend an initial 90-minute Zoom consultation in which:
- We will look at your present diet and food preferences.
- I will explain how best to eat to ensure long term energy and how and when to eat around exercise.
- We will draw up a diet together which fits around training schedules and which takes account of food preferences.
Often this one consultation provides enough information alone to better support exercise going forward.
The cost of this 90-minute consultation is £130
I am happy to work with clients on an ongoing basis if required. Those who are building up to a big sporting event or completion often like regular meet ups to assess diet and body composition.
The 90-minute Sports Nutrition Consultation is designed to assess present diet and food preferences and put in place an eating plan which would better serve the demands of the sporting activity. I will take into consideration long term energy production and shorter-term energy-boosting around training sessions and events as well as putting measures in to repair muscle mass post-exercise.
